I'm trying to reformat my computer but I need to get to the BIOS. When I start my computer it just simply doesn't go to the screen where I can press f2 and access it. It'll just go straight to the desktop. I've got the alienware A10 BIOS installed. Any ideas?

Flash your BIOS off the support.dell.com site you may have to put in the service tag to be able to download the software or find it more easily.

Alternatively if youre just trying to boot to the cd try tapping f12 at startup and see if you can select the cd/dvd rom boot option.

When I do keep pressing f2 it loads something I think because then the screen just stays blank and doesn't ever go to the desktop. I called their support line and the lady assured me that updating it would solve it but t didn't.

Are you sure the key you're supposed to press isn't delete?

Do you have two monitors? When I had two monitors hooked up to my computer and tried to go into the BIOS it would show up on the secondary monitor instead of the primary monitor for some reason.
